Exercício de caça desastroso

Cope Thunder was a mock air combat training exercise at Clark Air Base Philippines. It supported all military units in the Pacific. The Cope Thunder staff monitored and filmed target area tactics, some of which were disastrous. Sorry for poor quality but this is 1985 VHS quality material. This video was shown to all participating aircrews prior to their participation in the two week exercise scenario.

1. Aircraft accidentally drops a fuel tank
2. Second aircraft pulls out so periously low you can see the aircraft shadow.
3. F-16 on a Hunter-Killer mission with F-4G Wild Weasel drops on unauthorized target...has mea culpa at 540 kts to his flight lead.
4. Broaching bomb. Dropping inert 500 pound bombs presents problems if dropped at a low dive angle. Notice the 4 impact points as the bomb hits then burrows through, pops up and flies to its final destination mere feet from the range safety tower....a 1/4 mile from its original impact point.
5. A-6 releases high drag bombs way after pulling away from target.
6. A-6 accidentally "pickles" off his drop tanks.
7. F-4 releases its weapons load in a bank...big no no.
8. Navy A-7 flies directly into the ground. Target fixation?
